South Carolina Luxury Interior Designer has Spring Fever: Get Fresh
SPRING! One of my most favorite times of the year! I get a double dose of fabulous because I live in the south AND at the beach, so spring comes early. Even now, snowbirds from the north are flocking to our beaches and enjoying a taste of the Carolina sunshine. I love how spring makes me feel, inside and out! I am inspired to give every ounce of my home a good cleaning, I can’t wait until the last frost (which is already long gone here in Myrtle Beach) has passes so I can get in the garden and get my hands dirty and it is such a great feeling to drive through my neighborhood and see my neighbors in their yards working or playing with their kids. It is literally like everyone has “woken up” from the trance of winter, a hibernation we all need, but it sure feels good to feel that warm sun on my face once again!
When I “think spring”, I think FRESH. I think of crisp, clean white bed linens, magnolias, the Easter holiday and what it means to my family. I feel like what was once old is new again. It is a time when it seems fresh flowers are appropriate EVERYWHERE! I even have a video about it here. It is a great time to clear the cobwebs and wash not only the windows on you home, but also the lens through which you see the world. It is Mother Nature reminding us (literally) to “stop and smell the roses.” Notice the life around you, give thanks every moment you can and of course, it would not truly be spring if we did not celebrate being able to wear white shoes again (after Easter, of course!)
When Gucci says it’s time to wear white, then it is time!
So, lets get fresh…
Add a fresh coat of paint…
Give your Easter Eggs a bit of bling this year! And, check out this blog post I wrote about the most amazing Easter Egg tree, EVER!
Remember to add your greens when you head out to freshen up your wardrobe and there are so many fabulous shades!
Nothing feels more like spring than seeing fresh flowers in the garden (and a little dirt under your fingernails!)
Must. Have.
And above all, remember… even if you are looking out the window and still seeing snow on the ground, spring is right around the corner. And we can’t forget what comes after that! Flip Flop season!!!
