South Carolina Interior Designer’s Home is All Dressed Up for the Holidays!

As I looked through these fabulous images taken of my home taken last week by my amazing photographer, Carl Kerridge, I can’t help but have “visions of sugarplums” dance through my head. I wanted to create a magical yet traditional holiday feel and also integrate some of the favorite elements in my home into the decorations. I brought in lots of reds, greens and golds and of course plenty of wired ribbon! The only thing missing is a plate of cookies and a glass of milk for when Santa comes down the chimney! I hope he loves my “holiday look” as much as I do! And, I hope you do, too! Enjoy the tour of my home! There is a little bit of a Dr. Seuss feel to the front entrance of my home! I think it is the Christmas Tree wearing a Santa Hat on the right! I just love how the front doors look so big with the greenery over the archway of the doors makes it look like an entrance to a magical Christmas land! I adore my gold soldier! When you want to create that “grand” feel – making your elements bigger (oversized gifts, life size soldier boy) does the trick! So inviting! With the front entrance being so dramatic, I wanted to pull in the elegant charm of the foyer as what you will experience next when walking into my home. You will see, though, being that this is the foyer, I wanted to keep the theme from the front porch – lots of ribbon, reds, greens and golds! This is such a special touch to my design this year. This is what you will see as you are leaving my home after an evening of holiday merriment! As we move into my very traditional and southern dining room, I have toned down the “Bigness” of the front porch, a lot. There is more gold – which looks amazing with the current design. Upon first glance, my blue Currey & Co Chandelier is still the highlight of my living room. The decor is much more toned down and relaxed almost letting the natural design of the room stand out even more. When the “Big Guy” arrives, we want to show him some proper Southern Hospitality! Here is an easy and wonderful way to incorporate holiday decor into elements of your home that you love! I chose ornaments in blues, greens and gold to hang on some lovely branches. And, of course – my tree! You have permission with your tree to pull in lots of different elements and a little nostalgia. I focused on integrating a bit of all my holiday design into my tree this year. It is definitely ready for some presents beneath it!

Now go have an “It’s So Fabulous Day”
