Lounging Around Interior Design

With all of the projects I am juggling right now, well, sometimes I just need a darn cocktail! Can anyone out there relate?! Whew! My life has been CRAAAZZZY lately! (This week-end I will be sure to post pictures of the exterior of my new and expanded retail space at Knotting Hill Interiors, the project that has been sucking up the majority of my time and brain-power lately! And for any of you locals out there who have been wondering about the bold, new color of my building, stay tuned for details!) Okay, so back to my original topic of needing a cocktail…. Whether it’s a glass of red wine, a salty-sweet margarita, an extra dirty martini, or a fruity daiquiri, cocktails always taste better to me when served in a beautiful glass. I also feel extra sassy sipping my drink from a chic lounge area, whether at home or out on the town. In most situations, I believe in the motto, “Presentation is everything!”. Take a look at this lounge (below) that I created for a Myrtle Beach interior design client from Knotting Hill Interiors…. I love the gray walls with white and navy accessories and furniture. The combination is both soothing and chic! The classic navy upholstery blends beautifully with the contemporary styling and shape of these chairs to create an interesting combination. The zebra rug adds an unexpected, edgy element in the space. The bold acid green sofa is balanced by the deep blue and soothing gray throughout the space. So, what do YOU think about this home lounge? Can you see yourself sipping an evening cocktail in this space? Tell me what you like – or dislike – about it by posting a comment. I would love to hear your thoughts!
