3 Ways to Wow Your Guests this Winter

design Nov 16, 2020 3 Room Upgrades That Will Wow Your Holiday Guests Having a polished and perfected home is unrealistic. We live busy lives. Things get messy. We forget to put on mascara with our eyeliner (yes, one of THOSE days!). Life happens.

And…so do holidays. If you’re like me, you’re often in a pinch. You need new flooring, new furniture, new drapery - but who has time? Never fear, I’ll get you holiday-ready in no time.

1. THE FLOORING UPGRADE

A fresh, new rug is better than installing new flooring (unless your floors are in dire condition). A rug of the right size and color will make your room feel warmer or breezier, more expansive or more intimate. When looking for the perfect rug, make sure it contrasts attractively with your flooring. Already have a rug? Replace that baby!

2. THE FURNITURE UPGRADE

If you have young children, messy teenagers, or pets in the house, chances are your furniture fabric could use some love. Some homeowners prefer to clean their microfiber furniture fabric using a spray bottle of rubbing alcohol and a clean sponge. Doing this rids the fabric of unsightly stains or strange smells.

3. THE DRAPERY UPGRADE

I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again: lighting is everything. It’s the difference between “dingy” and “joyous.” Aside from that, having a window treatment that suits your window, its style, and its placement are equally important. Is your window treatment in the right position for your window?
